Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon, May 5th
On Friday, May 5, Lawrence School will host its annual Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon. The PTO is seeking two volunteers to help organize the event.
Fortunately, the long-time organizer of the event, Emily Tevald, has agreed to help the new organizers. The general tasks are:
- Early-April: Planning the theme for the lunch. Last year, it was a luau with Spam on all of the tables and grass skirts!
- Mid-April: Prep work such as buying tablecloths, plastic ware, seltzer, and napkins, after first checking to see what is available in the PTO closet.
- Mid-April: Two weeks before the luncheon, create a sign up around the theme and include this in the newsletter and in a room parent blast. There have always been plenty of parents who sign up and plenty of food.
- May 5: Arrive after drop off and plan to stay through the lunch. Organizers tidy the room and then set up for the luncheon. Teachers and staff come through in waves and as they eat, organizers refresh food as needed and keep things organized. Clean up is always super quick at the end.
Please consider volunteering for this important role this year and, better yet, find a friend who will volunteer with you! The teachers and staff really appreciate this gesture of appreciation from the school community.
If you are available to serve as an organizer of the 2017 Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon, please contact Nagmeh Ansari, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
