Junior Library Guild will process your donation and will inform our school librarian of your generous contribution. Ms. Moriarty can then select books from JLG’s large inventory of well-reviewed, excellent books for children of all ages.

Paper Cranes to Washington
People from all over town are joining together to fold origami peace cranes to give us and our children a way to voice a positive message of peace.
Several businesses will be folding paper cranes on Brookline’s First Light festival, Thursday December 1st, and others will do the same on other days. Stay tuned for more information.
We hope that other communities will join us, that this message will begin here in Brookline and Boston, take wing and spread around the world.

The Brookline Parent Education Network, in conjunction with Wayside Youth and Family Support Networks, is hosting a Mental Health First Aid Training to teach how to follow an action plan to help a young person that may be experiencing a mental health issue or substance abuse problem. The training will take place at the Brookline Public Health Department on December 5 and 7. Parent Tips for Following up with Kids about Marijuana Legalization
On November 8, Massachusetts voted to legalize recreational marijuana for those 21 and older, making this is an important time to engage in meaningful conversations with adolescents about marijuana use, with the most important message being a simple one – Marijuana can have damaging effects on the developing teen brain.
