Lawrence Used Book Fair!
5 months of collecting books – 15 hours of sorting books – Thousands of books  – 40 hours of selling books – 50volunteers  – Over $4,000 raised for our Lawrence School.

Congratulations and thanks to Karen Stern and Dana Greene for leading us to a successful Book Fair! Thanks also to Pamela for her guidance and sharing her Book fair experience. Many, many thank yous to you as this money would not have been raised for our school without you.

  • for $18: the “All School Yearbook” – 56 color pages including K-8 class photos and collages

Fundraiser for Japan Earthquake and Ecuador Earthquake on June 3
The Lawrence Community would like to show support for the many people affected by the earthquakes that struck Japan and Ecuador. We will have a rice-balls and other baked goods for sale on Friday, June 3, after school at the front lobby.
Please drop off your food donation (nut free please, and include your ingredients) at the office (before 1:20pm) or front lobby (after 1:20pm). Any financial donation would also be appreciated!
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be sent to theConsulate General of Japan in Boston and theEmbassy of Ecuador.

Lawrence School PTO 1 Mile and 5K Family Fun Run
Family Fun Run is next Sunday, June 5th at 9:00 am at the Lawrence School.  Register online or at the event on Sunday. Fee of $20 includes thisamazing T-shirt, designed by Lawrence parent Jin Suk, and an entry into a raffle.  All proceeds go to help support programs funded by the Lawrence School PTO.

LOOKING AHEAD

Farewell to Mr. Rogers
Please join us on Thursday, June 9 at 5:00 pm for a reception to celebrate Mr. Rogers and his eight years as principal of Lawrence School.  We will gather in the large gym, rain or shine, before the Spring Picnic.

As a part of our celebration, we plan to present Mr. Rogers with a scrapbook, created in his honor by Lawrence families near and far.  Your family is invited to contribute to the scrapbook by decorating a page.  Feel free to use photos, drawings, words, or any combination of the three, to share with Mr. Rogers your memories and your well wishes for his retirement.

A sheet of 12×12 scrapbook paper can be picked up in the main office and must be completed and returned to the office. Deadline has been extended until Friday, June 3.

  • 9th Elementary School June 7, Joint School Committee/Board of Selectmen meeting at Town Hall in the Selectman’s Hearing Room. The time will be announced closer to the meeting date.
  • Brookline High School Expansion and Renovation will be held at BHS on June 13th 7:00 p.m.
  • Devotion School Renovation will be held at Devotion School Auditorium on June 8th 7:00 p.m.

Run A Mile Together With Us!

The Village Fair Road Mile is a one-mile race planned collaboratively by theBrookline Extended Day Advisory Council and theTown of Brookline. The race will take place in the afternoon on June 12th, 2016 as part of The Village Fair, a large street festival in Brookline Village. Applications for the 3rd annual Brookline Warriors Summer Basketball Clinic are now being accepted. The Clinic will run June 27-30 (Monday-Thursday) from 9:00-3:00 in Schluntz Gymnasium at the high school. Boys ages 8-14 are eligible. Brookline HS head coach Luke Day is the Clinic director, and the staff includes BHS JV coach Dave Ford and Freshman coach Darren Martinez. The Brookline Warriors Summer Basketball Clinic is committed to delivering high quality instruction on individual and team basketball skills. Campers will not only improve on a day-to-day basis, but will take away from the camp specific knowledge about how they can keep improving. We are just as importantly committed to every camper having fun and developing a lifelong passion for the game of basketball. Brookline SmartSummers: Brookline SmartSummers 2016 is a summer enrichment program for children ages 5 through 13. Open to Brookline residents and non-residents, we offer a wide variety of educational programs that meet from one to eight weeks. In addition to having lots of fun, children will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities and learn new skills.
