Cradles to Crayons Brookline Schools are collecting new hats and gloves for local children in need. Bring your donations of warm winter clothes to your school between October 5th -9th.  cradlestocrayons.org

Car-Free Day!
Wednesday, October 7th will be this year’s town-wide Car-Free Day. Students and staff are all encouraged to arrive at school using non-gasoline-powered transportation. If that’s not doable, no worries. Everyone can get a hand stamp in celebration of the day. But if you can, your environment and your health will thank you! In addition, we will be working to post reminders not to leave cars idling. Did you know that for every 10 minutes of idling, one pound of carbon dioxide is released? Also, it turns out idling for just 10 seconds wastes more gas than restarting the engine! This year’s Halloween Costume Swap, sponsored by the Green Team, will be held outside the front door after school on October 7 and 8, earlier than usual. Please drop off your gently used costumes in the lobby between now and then and in exchange, you can pick up a different costume during the swap. Even if you don’t have an old one to share, please stop by. Most costumes are just $1. Happy Halloween! For more info or to join the Green Team, please contact susanhelmsdaley@gmail.com.
