Gas Leaks and Ghost Tree Tagging Event
-
Gas Leaks and Ghost Tree Tagging Event Brookline has lost over $1 million worth of trees due to underground gas leaks. National Grid is responsible for the leaks, but has no mandate or incentive to fix them because it is permitted by law to charge consumers for the losses in its system. But you can help change the law in Massachusetts to require gas companies to pay for and fix these gas leaks by raising awareness and making a stink! Bring your kids and join Brookline Mothers Out Front to tag one of the 250 gas leaks around town and mark the sites of these “ghost” trees, Saturday, May 12, St. Marks Square, 100 Park St, Brookline, 9:30-11:30 am
