    The BPD is offering an opportunity to all 5th graders in Brookline to become the police chief for a day. Submit an essay no more than 500 words answering: “If you were police chief for a day, how would you make Brookline a safer place?” Essays must be received by April 28, 2017. Students must be in the 5th grade and attend a Brookline public or private school. The winner will participate in an educational and fun-filled day of police activities on WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017, including: being issued a uniform, ceremonial swearing in as Police Chief, participating in scenarios/activities specific to each of our 4 police divisions and attending a luncheon as the guest of honor with Chief Daniel O’ Leary, the Chief for a Day Committee, and your family and guests. Submit your essay to: Please include your name, your school teacher’s name and your parents name(s) and contact information. Winner will be announced on May 3rd.
