Brookline residents will join yogis all over the world Thursday evening, June 21, 2018, to celebrate International Day of Yoga, which also marks the Summer Solstice. For the third year, popular local yoga teachers will conduct a free open-air yoga class, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, at Cypress Field, directly across from Brookline High School, 115 Greenough Street. (Rain location is the high school gym across the street.) Last year more than 150 members of the Brookline community joined the yoga class. All Brookline residents are invited, no experience necessary. Family and friends, young and old are welcome. Bring a mat or towel, for unity – dress in black and white. The yoga class is co-sponsored by Brookline on the Move, the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Relations, and the Brookline Departments of Public Health and Recreation. Instructors from Brookline yoga studios, Down Under and Coolidge Corner will lead the class.

NEW FAMILY WELCOME POINT PERSON:
Join Lawrence's New Family Welcome by being a first point of contact to families new to Lawrence. The welcome team is in search of 1 or 2 more members to help with school tours, showing new families around the school and answering any questions they may have. Tours currently occur one Tuesday per month at 8:15 (after drop-off) and one Thursday at 1:40 (before pick-up), so anyone who can commit to two or three of those per semester would be a big help! The welcome team would appreciate any help, but is seeking a middle school parent/caregiver, in particular, to add to the range of experience available to new families. Please email email@example.com to get involved.
