Hi All,
On September 24 at 3 p.m., Bach, Beethoven, & Brahms Society opens its season at historic Faneuil Hall with a concert featuring one of the most promising young virtuoso violinists of his generation, New England Conservatory student In Mo Yang. Winner of the 2015 Paganini Competition, the young Korean violinist is carving out a busy international career with prestigious performances around the world – all while completing his Bachelor’s degree at NEC! He returns to Faneuil Hall for a performance with BB&B of Mendelssohn’s effervescent Violin Concerto.
In addition, as part of the year-long celebration of the Leonard Bernstein centennial, BB&B performs music from Bernstein’s unforgettable “West Side Story,” joined by the talented young singers of VOICES Boston. The program is anchored by one of BB&B’s signature works, Beethoven’s ebullient Symphony No. 1, and opening the concert is a rare performance of “Bal Masque” by American composer Amy Beach on the occasion of her 150th birthday year.
We think this concert will be especially inspiring for young people and are extending all students a special half-price offer for side seating in balcony and orchestra ($20 and $25). Will you please help us spread the word and consider publicizing this offer to your students, perhaps even bringing a group to the concert? It’s an excellent introduction to one of New England’s brightest young ensembles, under the music direction of Steven Lipsitt, as well as an opportunity to hear an engaging, intimate afternoon of top quality classical music in one of Boston’s most historic treasures, Faneuil Hall.
