The Boston University Arts Initiative, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, The Dance Program, and Disability Services is pleased to host AXIS Dance Company for a residency March 13-18, 2017. AXIS Dance Company exists to change the face of dance and disability through three pillars of activity: Artistry, Engagement, and Advocacy. AXIS Dance Company was founded in 1987 and has paved the way for a powerful contemporary dance form called physically integrated dance, which features dancers with and without disabilities.
There is a SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for the week that can be found at http://www.bu.edu/arts/axis/. All events are listed; they are free and open to the public, however registration is required.
On Saturday March 18th from 8PM to 10PM there will be a final public performance at the Boston University Dance Theater, located at 915 Commonwealth Avenue Boston, MA 02215. To register for this event, please go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/axis-dance-company-public-performance-registration-30470060772
The Brookline Commission on Disability, in an effort to show support for the innovative work done by AXIS Dance Company, would like to publicize these free events to Brookline residents of all abilities.

NEW FAMILY WELCOME POINT PERSON:
Join Lawrence's New Family Welcome by being a first point of contact to families new to Lawrence. The welcome team is in search of 1 or 2 more members to help with school tours, showing new families around the school and answering any questions they may have. Tours currently occur one Tuesday per month at 8:15 (after drop-off) and one Thursday at 1:40 (before pick-up), so anyone who can commit to two or three of those per semester would be a big help! The welcome team would appreciate any help, but is seeking a middle school parent/caregiver, in particular, to add to the range of experience available to new families. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved.
