2017 Devotion Science Fair
Saturday March 11, 2017
8:30 AM- 12:30 PM
Upper Devotion School Gym & Auditorium
194 Boylston St., Brookline, MA 02445
What do you wonder about? The weather? Renewable energy? The ocean? Animals? Your brain? Why plants need water to grow?
Wow, there are so many cool things to wonder about! Please pick your favorite question and explore it in your science project. At the science fair students can present their science projects to professional scientists and to the community. Its main purpose is to get you excited about science by doing it rather than simply learning about it. A scientist first asks a question about some aspect of the world and then tries to find its answer. At the science fair, each student presents a project, both visually and orally, with the question and answer displayed in an interesting way. Students should be able to explain their projects and answer questions.

Join Lawrence's New Family Welcome by being a first point of contact to families new to Lawrence. The welcome team is in search of 1 or 2 more members to help with school tours, showing new families around the school and answering any questions they may have. Tours currently occur one Tuesday per month at 8:15 (after drop-off) and one Thursday at 1:40 (before pick-up), so anyone who can commit to two or three of those per semester would be a big help! The welcome team would appreciate any help, but is seeking a middle school parent/caregiver, in particular, to add to the range of experience available to new families. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved.
