Principal’s Corner

Dear Lawrence Families,

Thank you to our PTO and all the families that provided the amazing food for staff on December 9!
A big thanks also to our Japanese Families for the wonderful food night! We greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and continued support!

Please remind your children to check the Drop Off Table first if they have forgotten an item, i.e. lunch, instrument, homework, etc…it’s likely to be there!

During this Holiday Season it is always important to spend quality time with family and friends. I encourage all of us as parents to find out about our kids, listen to them, find out what is important to them and have some fun together. Spending time with your child and talking with them is very helpful in making learning connections and supporting relationships. Ask them about the traditions they enjoy and share the ones you value, you may be surprised at what they say.

Virtually all of the research on students at risk of negative behavior concludes that what children need most is a caring, loving, responsible adult in their lives. This means that the adult models responsibility, sets appropriate limits, and provides a structured, loving, caring environment.Children crave structure and need to know their limits.

The holiday season can often be a time of stress for families and for many we are often over scheduled. Thank you for spending time with your child, talking with them and enjoying your time together. Our children grow so fast. I wish you a great winter break!
